Primrose & Chen Psychology
Strength in vulnerability
Primrose and Chen Psychology is a Canberra based psychological practice offering in person and online consultations. We offer psychological support to adults and adolescents.
The practice was set up based on the tenets of inclusivity, connection, empathy, and ongoing understanding of identity. We aim to foster a warm and non-judgemental therapeutic space for individuals to see themselves with compassion and facilitate growth.
I have been a psychologist in Canberra for 20 years, dedicated to providing effective psychological support. Whether you are navigating the complexities of adolescence or facing the demands of adult life, I am here to support you. My goal is to create a safe and supportive environment where you can explore your challenges and develop the skills to help manage them.
I use a range of evidence based therapeutic approaches, including Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), Schema Therapy, Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), and Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT). I tailor treatment to your specific needs, helping you address underlying issues, build resilience, and achieve lasting change.
I work with individuals aged 13 and up from all backgrounds, and I warmly welcome LGBTQi+ people.
I am a full member of the Australian Psychological Society, a Board approved supervisor and a Victim Support ACT provider.
I am a clinical psychologist registered with the Psychology Board of Australia and a full Member of the Australian Psychological Society. I completed Master of Clinical Psychology and Bachelor of Science in Psychology (Honours) at University of Canberra. I also hold a Bachelor of Arts and Master of Arts with a focus on English Literature.
I am trained in a range of evidence-based therapeutic frameworks including Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) and Schema Therapy. My therapeutic approach is client centred, strengths based, trauma and attachment informed. I collaborate with my clients in understanding their experiences and behaviour and facilitate changes in their sense of self and how they relate to the world through acceptance and discoveries.
I enjoy working with young people (16 years+), young and mature adults experiencing anxiety, depression, adjustment difficulties with life transitions, grief and loss, low self worth, relational and attachment difficulties, stress and post traumatic stress difficulties.
